Jacob Rountree is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter, producer, and artist whose creative path has been shaped by resilience, reinvention, and a deep connection to the natural world.

     Born in the southern deserts of New Mexico and later drawn to the rugged landscapes of Washington and Montana, Rountree’s early life was defined by athletic ambition. A competitive park skier and wrestler, he once dreamed of turning pro on the slopes while holding a wrestling scholarship as a backup. That path was cut short by back-to-back injuries; a separated shoulder and a blown-out knee from ski crashes, which abruptly redirected his focus. During this pivotal "coming to age" experience Rountree turned to the arts as a lifeline and therapy.  Trading in aggression and adrenaline for intentionality and self expression, photography, poetry and music took a forefront in Jacobs daily routenes. Finally processing a childhood overly familiar with loss and death Rountree felt the need to begin sharing his music to help heal generations of hardship.

     Seeking stability, Rountree moved to Montana, where he found a new vitality amongst the high alpine backcountry and where he earned a Mechanical Engineering degree with highest honors. While immersed in his studies, he remained deeply connected to music from biking to open mics and gigs across Bozeman with his amp strapped to his handlebars and guitar on his back. Bridging his two worlds, he even collaborated with Gibson Guitars on a predictive vibration analysis model, merging engineering precision with musical innovation.

     In 2019, Rountree took the leap into full-time musicianship. He performed several nights a week, expanding his reach across state lines. To stay engaged with engineering, Jacob joined a start up where he designed, assembled, and tested custom systems for industrial nanoparticle manufacturing, before eventually co-owning his own nanoparticle company focused on natural biomedical treatments.

     Over the next five years, Rountree built a thriving career as a touring artist, releasing his third album,"Truth or Dare" which was named #1 Album of Bozeman in 2025 and was even considered for the Grammys. He has shared stages and recorded with artists including Whitney, Paul Cauthen, Rayland Baxter, Donovan Frankenreiter, Future Islands, and Kyle Keegan from "Ben Howard". As a lead guitarist for other bands and through his own professional studio, he has also become a sought-after collaborator, producer, mixer, and mastering engineer for fellow artists.

     A multi-award-winning musician recognized as Best Solo Artist, Best Folk Band, Best Rock Band, and for Best Musical Performance, Rountree has graced the main stages of many festivals in the west. Whether through engineering or music, he continues to push boundaries as an inventor and pioneer, ultimately serving as a healer who channels creativity into medicine.
